Nick Jenkins
Coach
Biography:
Nick’s journey in the martial arts began in 2011 when he decided to take up boxing on a whim. After meeting his first coach, Victor Melendez, Nick decided to shift his focus toward kickboxing and Muay Thai. After several years of training and seeking to further his understanding of the fighting arts, Nick was introduced to Sensei David Krapes. It was through these two coaches that Nick was able to find his style as he began to compete. Nick’s been fortunate enough to meet and train with legendary figures in the world of kickboxing and boxing, including Saekson Janjira, Peter “Sugarfoot” Cunningham, Rafael Ruelas, and the late Hector “The Aztec Warrior” Peña and more. Wanting to test himself, Nick initially started competing in 2015 as a substitute, filling in for a fellow teammate who couldn’t make weight. During this time, Nick traveled across California and to Las Vegas, at one point fighting 4 times in one year. After having tested himself, Nick shifted his focus back toward the study of the martial arts itself and less on competing. He has learned to adapt to a variety of situations both inside and outside the ring. He comes from a very athletic background (dance, track and field running). These core ideas of rhythm and speed respectively, show in almost every aspect of Nick’s everyday life.
